![]() ![]() Of the other vinyls they have, none even come close to the gain in the vinyl roof on the '75, but the basic vinyl is close to the grain in the vinyl roof on the '72, just not sure if I am going to do the Craftec on either of those at this point.įinally got all the parts together to finish up the electric solenoid latches (latches, momentary switch, and wire). Just my perspective, overall very happy with this Craftec cover for my '68 (has the basic vinyl, no options). ![]() The aluminum frame alone is worth the price, if you start adding in more aspects, like the electric solenoid latches, their (Craftec) price only goes up more! The solenoid latches cost me $18 shipped, not bad, biggest issue now is do I make the 12v feed to the latches constant (which is nice if you walk up to the vehicle and need to open the tonneau cover without the key/ignition on) or do you wire the 12v feed from an ignition feed, thus providing some sort of "security"? I don't need security because this '68 is always garage kept, never driven anywhere where I am not with it at all times (well, maybe a few minutes at shows when I go to the bathroom!) Click to expand.Well, to a degree I agree with those comments, but all things said, the curve in the tailgate is minimal and can be accommodated with the latches, which they (Craftec) do include, just don't like the manual aspect of it with the 3rd gen tailgate, You should remember that the 4th gen's have the tailgate latch on the outside, so that is not an issue with those years. ![]()
